Old-Time Crucian Christmas at Estate Whim Museum
Estate Whim Museum opens it's doors for St. Croix Landmarks Society’s annual Old-Time Crucian Christmas and Open House nightly, Wednesday December 18 through Saturday December 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. This is a great opportunity for families to enjoy the splendor of Estate Whim Great House and Museum Grounds dressed for Christmas.
Bring the entire family, elders and children, to reconnect with treasured traditions. Both a Danish Christmas Tree and our own traditional Inkberry Tree will be on display in the Great House, complete with authentic handmade ornaments and garlands. Local musicians and choir groups will provide Music of the Season while families stroll through the Exhibit Halls, My Granny House and Museum Grounds.
Landmarks' cash bar will be serving up refreshments and traditional holiday treats including Guavaberry, Coquito, Sweet Bread, Tarts and Candies.
Admission is free but donations are welcomed.
St. Croix Landmarks Society is also seeking crafty, enthusiastic volunteers to help us decorate in the days leading up to the event. Anyone interested in helping create, or learn about, traditional Crucian holiday decorations, run lights, hang ornaments, raise our trees, build flower and wreath arrangements using local flowers and bromeliads – please stop by the museum this Thursday through next Tuesday, with the exception of Sunday. Local choir groups and musicians are more than welcome to come and perform during the evenings of December 18-21. Call (340) 772-0598
