Dance Your Tail Off For The Island's Homeless Animals!
Lucky Paws Foundation (LPF) invites you to a DANCE PARTY on Saturday, October 19, 2013, from 7:00 till Midnight at Magens Point Resort.....
SAVE THE DATE!
LPF is at the forefront of the local spay/neuter movement, and wants to bring attention to the plight of our homeless animals by holding a benefit to celebrate National Feral Cat Day. This month begins an annual campaign to educate our community about feral cats and how to best live with them. Feral cats are the "unseen" residents in every community and need human intervention to help reduce the tragedy of their over breeding. The Cat Cafe program has saved thousands of cats' lives and continuously assists properties and individuals to mange community cats complaints and turn them into welcome neighbors. Stray cats are a serious component of the overpopulation and the TNRM (trap, neuter, return, maintain) approach not only saves thousands of cats from needless killing and reduces shelter intake, but it is a proven, humane and effective long term solution. Every dollar raised will bring us one step closer to ending the killing of healthy, adoptable animals, as well as providing families with financial assistance to alter their own pets. .
Thanks to our many friends and supporters committed to animal welfare and a more humane community, we are able to offer this unique party on Saturday, October 19 with 100% of the proceeds dedicated for sterilization. Spay/Neuter vouchers will be on sale for $25.00.
DJ Eric Snow will take you down memory lane with your favorite tunes from the 50's, 60's and 70's and the best dancers and costumes will receive fabulous prizes.
Senate President Shawn Michael Malone will be one of the five professional judges. Raffles will be on sale for outstanding gifts including hotel stays, jewelry, restaurant certificates, spa services and much, much more. The nostalgia of decades past will be captured by the brightly decorated booths featuring silver $ burgers, hot wings, deviled eggs, and outrageous theme beverages.
A special booth will be dedicated to LPF featuring a prototype of the latest Cat Café. Mouth watering cupcakes & cookies will be on sale, all lovingly donated by our dedicated volunteers.
The highlight of the evening will be a cameo led by internationally known choreographer, performer and master teacher Derrick A. Evans, who began his career at our very own St. Thomas School of Dance. He along with a group of his fellow STT School of Dance alumni and other visiting trained dancers will bring the house down with a scintillating Saturday Night Fever performance.
Entertainer Steve Prosterman’s juggling along with cotton candy and popcorn will enhance the festive atmosphere. Magen's Point Resort's new beautiful pool area will provide the party's perfect ambiance.
Tickets are on sale at the following locations: Magens Point Resort, Island Empire in Red Hook, How’bout Your Pet, and Phoenix Visions. The $10 admission ticket also entitles guests to one beverage. Additional parking will be available at the Dairy with a complimentary shuttle.
Prevention is kinder than destruction! Join us and be part of a movement to achieve a NO KILL island. If you cannot make it, please consider buying a book of raffle tickets ($20 for a book of 5 chances) or donating a gift or service for our raffle.
Once again, I want to thank volunteers, donors and sponsors for your continued support of our mission,
