Beach Cleanup on STX This Saturday
I only moved to STX a few weeks ago, but I've heard nothing but good things about the St. Croix Environmental Association (SEA).
They have a beach clean up this Saturday morning that I am hoping to go to.
It should be a good chance to meet some new people while also doing a bit of good for the island.
It is being held at Southgate Beach.
As I understand it, Southgate Beach Is just east of Cheeseburgers a 100 yards or so down the road on the left hand side.
Here is some more info on the cleanup:
Coastweeks International Coastal Cleanup is a program of The Ocean Conservancy coordinated in the Virgin Islands by UVI Marine Advisory Service. While beaches, bays, estuaries and rivers are being cleaned data is collected to help determine the source of coastal litter so that solutions can be found. We need volunteers with pick-up trucks to haul bagged trash to dumpsters when we’re done. This is fun for the whole family—you’ll be surprised at what you can find on the beach! Please call 773-1989 to register so we can be prepared with adequate supplies and drinks.

I hope to see a few of you there on Saturday!
