4th of July
What kinds of celebrations go on on the 4th? Where can we see fireworks? We may be there on the 4th.
Thanks so much!
Hello Melissa,
On St. John the Carnival parade is on the 4th and there are fireworks in the evening.

The fireworks at the Yacht Club were great (on STX), but Chuck hurt his hand and I guess the insurance costs would be astro - bloody - nomical now. Hope somewhere else has them.
You can watch them with us from Gallows Point. The only condition is that you bring some Dreyers ice cream. If you can do a nice salad you can even join us for bbq tri tip.
But in any case, good ice cream gets you a great seat.
Well taht is a great offer and I am sure you will be inundated with Ice Cream and Salad...but sadly, I shall be in the UK for July and August...and...July 4th ain't too big an event over there!
Thanks for all of your responses. Still not sure if we will be there or not, but if we are we will be on St. Croix. Gallow's Point is on St. John, right? If we were going to be there we would certainly bring your ice cream! Thanks again!
I believe the Gallows to which promoguy refers is the condo development in Cruz Bay on STJ.
There is always a really nice fireworks display in Frederiksted sponsored by the country club (I'm pretty sure) over the pier. Places to watch from: Cottages/Sandcastles beach, coconuts on the beach, rainbow, aquawest, blue moon etc etc.
The west end fireworks are great... we sat on our back step and watched them last year... the crowd on the pier was HUGE!! The best part was that there was a group of about six children sitting a few yards away from us, and they were just rapt. Adults just don't ooh and ahh over fireworks the way kids do. But, I concur, Sand Castle, Coconuts, any of the west end beach front restaurants would be great for viewing.
